AUBERGE DE LA SANSONNIÈRE

Auberge de la Sansonnière

The Willis' invited us out for Sunday brunch at their favorite place.  The whole family is in town: son Toby and daughter-in-law Fiona with the two kids, Skye and Orla; son Toby with his fiancée Cathy.  Toby and Cathy are scouting out locations for their wedding next year.

It was a long drive out to Saint Georges des Sept Voies where the restaurant is located.  We were all dressed up in our finest for the occasion.  We had preselected the menus we wanted to choose from (there were menus at 19€, 31€, and 41€) eash featuring a different seasonal speciality.  I had the veal sweetbread entrée and the monkfish main.  The dessert was touted as a creme brulée but it hardly resembled the traditional article.  Rich had duck foie gras followed by a lobstery thing (hommard roti).  We took coffee on the terrasse as the kids played together.  Every Sunday should be like this!
