OILITHREACHT

I finished the "pilgrimage" and got the certificate. There was a little ugliness at Saint Michan's - who knew there were two Saint Michans in Dublin. At the first one - the original - the little Protestant church ladies were very gracious in redirecting "pilgrims" but I think they were a little peeved that not too many people stayed around to see their church. This Saint Michan's is the church that has the mummified Crusader in the crypt. We took Vladimir and Ilir to see him but they wouldn't shake his hand. The other Saint Michan's is in the market area, close to the former debtors' prison (Dublin's Marshalsea) and opposite a park where Newgate Prison once stood.

Whitefriar Street Church where the relics of Saint Valentine are interred.
