Constant is explaining what the Russian intervention in Syria is all about.
He has been to war many times, in Africa, in Iraq, in New Caledonia. He knows what he is talking about. Nicholas interrupts to explain his take: "It's like the mayor telling me that I could put flower boxes up to 2 metres from my door and then lying and saying he never told me that." Nicholas has a way of distilling all the great events of human history into simple village politics. Sometimes, he is spot on. "In the theatre, every actor plays a rôle in the drama, even the characters who don't have a line of dialogue. Often the most powerful words are the ones that are never spoken."
