I love visiting Tours.
I always feel I am on pilgrimage, on the Camino if you will, to the shrine of my saint, even when we are just making a shopping trip (Isn't every shopping trip a pilgrimage of sorts?). We made just such a visit last week. Rich wanted to get another fixture for his bathroom and track lighting to be installed in his bedroom. We did all our investigating at LeroyMerlin, a big-box store like a high-end Home Depot. Afterwards, we strolled through the downtown area, visited the Basilica, and had a beer in Place Plumereau in Vieux-Tours. We left the village of Saint-Cyr for another day!
