EDWINA

#LaBelleEpoque #50
"Hey Ladies"

The Lightfoots have left and won't be back in the village until May of next year.
We had their farewell dinner at Le Mestré last night.  I would have liked to have known them better.
Edwina, in particular, seems to have had a varied life, rich in meaningful experiences.  My casual remark about Elton John as Queen of England elicits a treasure trove of memories about her days as his secretary.  She has another story about booking hotel rooms in London for the Jackson5 tour and making arrangements for Michael's suite to be completely outfitted with padding.
There are plenty of tabloid exposés for the prurient, but Edwina manages to tell an interesting story about her own life without ever retailing gossip. That's a great storyteller!
