MODERN TROGLODYTE

Phil from Santa Monica invited us over for lunch. He wanted to show us his “house” – a troglodyte cave that he is slowly making into a home. So far he has created a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. He has electricity but no hookup to the city sewer system. He has a solar shower on the front lawn. He lives in Montsoreau for about 7 – 8 months of the year.
We had a wonderful lunch. Two of Phil’s friends, a Czech couple who are staying with him prepared a great lunch from foods they had bought at the Tuesday market in Bourgueil.
