LIFFEY WALK

Yesterday was a complete washout. Today I was excited by a little sun. After visiting Carmel at the hospital we drove to Islandbridge to walk along the Liffey. We walked through the Irish National War Monument Park, along the Liffey as far as Chapelizad . We saw swans and herons, ducks and ducklings. This part of the river is home to several rowing clubs. We saw several teams rowing up and down the river.
As you would expect from the name (Chapelizod = séipéal Iosáid = Iseult's chapel) Iseult of mythology is reputed to be buried here.
